Pet Stories From Grade 3 Students
Thu, 20 Dec 2018
The Bow Valley SPCA Educators visited Madame Delorme's Grade 3 class at Elizabeth Rummel Elementary School. The kids were asked to write a story about their pets and the SPCA volunteers picked two to showcase.
Roberta Richardson, member of the Education Committee for the BVSPAC said, "The reason the Fish and Hamster stories were chosen is that these students choose the right pet for their family's lifestyle. Students learned a dog or cat is not always a suitable pet for their family, and that many animals are surrendered or returned to shelters due to the family making the wrong choice. Family lifestyle, finances, time and living environment should be taken into consideration before choosing your pet companion."
