Jake Branson is Volunteer of the Year
Paul Turner, president of the Bow Valley SPCA, presented Jake Branson with the Bow Valley SPCA’s 2012 Volunteer of the Year Certificate of Appreciation. The Wood restaurant in Canmore generously gifted a gift certificate in recognition of his outstanding dedication.
Jake has volunteered for the Bow Valley SPCA for a long while. He attends the Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre several times a week and happily helps with many small administrative matters. Then without fail, he takes every dog in our care out for an off-site walk. But it is more than just walking and making sure they get exercise, he works with each of them based on their behaviour plan—helping to make them better pets when they find their forever family.
Jake always has an upbeat attitude that is infectious. Turner said “Jake has put in so many hours at the Centre this year, he has made a huge difference in the lives of all the dogs we have had at the Centre. He is an asset to the animals and with his sense of humour, to the staff and other volunteers as well.”
