Frank Sojonky who loved dogs, and with his wife Carla contributed several hundred thouand dollars toward the construction of the Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre, home of the Bow Valley SPCA, died this week.  He was 84.  Frank was a successful businessman, but more important to many of the people he knew, he was a generous and caring man.  Besides his contribution to Canada's first no kill, no cage adoption centre he contributed his enormous energy to finding a cure for prostate cancer.  The Globe and Mail provides the details of his life long achievements.

During a video interview, Frank, the consumate businessman, explained his support for a no kill adoption centre when he said, Numbers are okay for business and politics, but when it comes to people and dogs, one is important.

Those of us who work and volunteer at the Bow Valley SPCA honour his support and pay tribute to his memory.

Services will be held in Edmonton at the First Baptist Church (109 Street, 1/2 block south of Jasper Avenue, 1/2 block north of 100
Avenue) on Saturday, October 27, at 1:00 PM.
