Family Day at the BVSPCA 2020

More than 100 people joined the volunteers and staff at the Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre on Family Day. Visitors had lots of options for education and entertainment. Firstly, Serena (one of our volunteers) brought her pet snake Taco to the event. Kids and adults alike, were fascinated with this 14 year old pet. Serena has had her since she was a baby.

The day also featured tours of the dog area with demos of how we work with and train the dogs in our care. The board room was converted to a craft area and kids had a chance to express themselves through art. The cat rooms were open for all visitors to enter and interact with the cats that are up for adoption.

Lastly, we had a demonstration about the use of bear spray. Did you know it is good for protection against other wildlife like elk, and cougars?
