December Appeal for Support

The Bow Valley SPCA proudly serves the communities of Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise and Kananaskis as well as the surrounding parks and smaller municipalities. We are Canada’s only no-kill, no-cage facility and have rescued over 135 animals this year alone, over 740 since we opened our doors 5 years ago.

We do our work with a very small staff, and a group of volunteers that will donate nearly 10,000 hours of their valuable time this year to help train, care and rehabilitate our animals, run fundraising events and provide direction for the facility by serving on the Board of Directors.

We cannot accomplish what we do without you: the donors that provide us the funds to rescue each and every animal.  Donations make up 65% of our revenue, and we have found that December is when we receive nearly 35% of all our annual donations.  Our web site provides safe and easy online means to donate with the added benefit of issuing a tax receipt via email immediately.  You can arrange to donate once, or on a monthly or quarterly basis.  We appreciate each and every dollar we receive and we continuously review our expenses to ensure we are getting the greatest benefit from each dollar spent.

Every donation is important to us.  I ask that if you are able to donate, please do.  It will make a difference in the life of an abandoned cat or dog.  If you cannot donate, please consider adopting Shasta, a dog that has been with us for four years.  “Adopting one dog may not change the world, but the world will surely change for that one dog”.
