Belle One Year Later

Belle was with us at the Carla Cumming Sojonky Adoption Centre for about 3 years.  She was adored by every volunteer that knew her.  Her temperment was astounding when it came to people and kids--beautifully sweet and gentle.  She was a bit unpredictable when it came to other dogs and at 110 pounds, that created a few handling issue.  We worked with her using only positive rewards (she loved hot dogs) and she became absolutely oriented to her handler.  She would ignore anything and everything, if asked.  Still, we had trouble finding a forever home.  Luckily, we made contact with Bull Mastiff Rescue in the USA and they were excited to take her and place her with an experienced person.

So we met Jewlz Lane, of Bull Mastiff Rescue, who immediately fell in love with Belle and was amazed at how well she was trained.  When Belle's unpredictable agressivenes toward other dogs was mentioned, her comment was, She is a Bull Mastiff, that is what they were bred to do.  That is no problem!  That is why she needs an experienced owner.

A few weeks later Kirk McGraw came along and fell in love.  Belle has been living happily with Kirk and his cat for more than a year.

We visited with Belle, Jewlz and Kirk in June 2012.  The pictures tell the story of the love and devotion shared between the two of them.  One picture that is not there would almost tell the whole story.  Kirk removed the passsenger seat of his pick up truck so that Belle could have more room to move around and see outside when they drive together.
