A Heartwarming Donation from A Young BVSPCA Supporter

A wonderful story from one of our younger supporters - thank you Janet Morrison for sharing this with us.
Helping Our Furry Friends!
My son and I enjoy visiting the Bow Valley SPCA – in particular, we like to play with the kitties who are waiting for their forever home. We already have a little lion at home who enjoys being the leader of the pack so we are not able to adopt at this time. We always donate a few cat toys when we go but my son (who is 4 years old) wanted to do more to do help and that’s when we came up with the idea of auctioning off our Safeway stamps to raise funds. The reaction we got was so positive that we decided to match any donation up to $100. We got an offer of $50 for our 76 stamps and true to our word, we matched that for a total $100 donation. To my son this seemed like an amount that would buy lots of food and water, I know that it is just a fraction of what is needed but every bit helps. It was a good experience for my son in the power of community and the importance of sharing. He was so proud and happy when he dropped of our cheque and as you can see he still had a few cat toys in hand as well!
