A Forever Gift

Adoption fees, grants and programming only cover a small portion of the revenues required to keep the Bow Valley SPCA doors open each year. To ensure we have reliable and sustainable streams of revenue to cover the increasing costs of operating the Bow Valley SPCA, we are focusing this year on building our endowment fund, The Bow Valley SPCA Fund at the Calgary Foundation.

Nick Wieler and Heather Sinclair Wieler are big proponents of our endowment fund and recognize the impact to us and security that this stream of forever income provides. They also recognize that monthly donors that directly fund our operations are also a key component of our financial sustainability strategy. And they definitely walk the talk!

At the end of 2023, to kick start us on our quest this year to long-term sustainability, Heather and Nick once again graciously contributed $25,000 to our endowment fund, in addition to the $5,000 they had provided towards monthly donor matching earlier in the year. With donors like Nick and Heather we truly are able to continue to Make a Difference and Change Lives, and we are beyond grateful for their continued support of our Mission.

We look forward to working with Nick and Heather as well as Carla Cumming Sojonky, one of the seed and continued funders of our endowment fund, this year as we continue our journey to grow The Bow Valley SPCA Fund.
