Have you ever wanted to meet our adoptable dogs?
On Saturday August 31, from 1:30pm to 3:00pm, three of our wonderful, adoptable dogs will be showing off their great personalities and accepting visitation for our first ever Dog Day Open House! Come on down and join us for this special event.
In order to keep the day positive and stress free for our dogs, please read the following before your visit to the Centre:
What a Visit Will Look Like:
- All dog visitations will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please be advised there may be waiting times to visit a dog.
- Upon arriving at the Centre, visitors will check-in with a volunteer and register for a time slot to visit with the dog(s) of interest.
- The volunteer will provide an overview of the dog and any special instructions while meeting the dog.
- When it's your time to meet a dog, a volunteer will escort you to one of our dog pens for the meet-and-greet.
- Dog visits will be limited to 5 to 10min per individual/group, so as to not overstimulate or stress the dogs. (This is a new experience for them!)
Housekeeping Rules:
- Children must be accompanied by a parent at all times while visiting the dogs. Due to energy levels and personalities of our dogs, some dogs may have an age limit for visitation.
- Please do NOT bring any toys, treats or food with you to the visit. Some of our dogs have allergies. Appropriate treats will be provided by a BVSPCA volunteer at the time of the visit.
- Please do NOT bring your own dogs to the event. Our dogs are available for visitation with people only. If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs and would like your dog to meet them, a separate appointment will be scheduled.

*Limited parking available in the BVSPCA parking lot and on the streets. Please adhere to all street parking signs.
