About Peanut

We are pleased to announce that Peanut was adopted on Nov. 19, 2024
Hey, I'm Peanut! I've had quite the journey to get where I'm at now, and I lost an eye along the way, but I'm feeling much better for it and I'm finally ready to move onto my next chapter which I hope involves a great forever home! My breed mix is a bit of a mystery - Sharpei? Bulldog? Heeler? Beagle? - your guess is as good as mine! The shelter staff say I'm a Purebred Wiggle-Butt-Waggly-Tail-Goodest-Girl. I'm a great size for adventuring AND lap snuggles, and I haven't met a person yet that I don't love!

When I arrived to the BVSPCA I was in rough shape - filthy dirty with scars and wounds over my body, extremely underweight and malnourished, covered in lice and full of worms, and with a traumatic eye injury which was causing me a lot of pain. Now a few months later after having one of my eyes removed, fattening up with some delicious food, and being treated for parasites, I'm acting and feeling like a whole new dog! I've ditched the outside dog life for a life of comforts. I found out I love snuggling up in blankets and being pampered by people, although I'm still trying to figure out what "toys" are. Balls seem fun though! I'm told I have to walk on this thing called a harness and leash? I find it a bit weird and I'm still getting used to the concept, but I'm warming up to the idea now that I've realized all the fun places I can go. I have off leash zoomies like you've never seen; I'm as fast and furious as a race car driver, and my tail never stops wagging which gives me extra propulsion for zooms! I also love to spin in happy circles, which might be because I'm still getting used to being a one-eyed-doggie, or might just be a cute quirk I have.

After a hard start to life, I'm ready to trade in my life on the streets for one as a pampered pet - with lots of outside adventuring, I hope! I can't wait to find a great home and start exploring the world!
