About Zophya
Zophya is my name, and hugs are my game! Seriously, I will crawl right up your chest to wrap my paws around your neck to give biiiiig hugs. The people at the shelter think it's just the cutest! I'm no spring chicken, and while not a lot is known about my past, we know that it hasn't been an easy one. When I went in to get spayed, the vets found a pellet from a pellet-gun in my skin. Humans must not have been all bad to me in my life though, because I'm very trusting, snuggly, and sweet with everyone. Being a nearly-senior lady that's lived a tough life, I'm starting to slow down a bit, and they say I'm a bit "creaky" but I say I still have lots of life left to live and I won't let anything stop me from living it! Although I walk with a bit of a chronic limp (potentially due to some age-related decreased mobility, or perhaps due to my rough past), I still hop all around and have no troubles getting around. My most favourite pastime is sleeping curled up in a little ball in my favourite bed. I hope my new home comes with lots of cozy soft places to curl up for a cat nap. I deserve to find a gentle home that will love me long into my senior years - I promise to give all the hugs I have!
Dog-friendly: Untested, likely yes
Cat-friendly: Yes
Kid-friendly: Yes
Do I Need Special Care?: I have a history of chronic on and off gastric sensitivities. This may be diet related, or I may be more sensitive from living outdoors with a previously heavy parasite burden. While in the shelter, my stools have normalized, but I may need special gastro friendly food or probiotics if gastric issues persist in the future. I walk with a chronic limp, but no special care is needed at this time and I don't appear to be in pain. If this limp worsens in the future, anti-inflammatories may be recommended to help keep me spry as I age.
