About Ringo

Hi there, I'm Ringo! I've got a super cute face and beautiful markings, so I know you might be tempted to take me home, but I'll be looking for a special home that has experience with rehabilitating semi-feral cats. You see, I don't trust humans, and so I'm quick to go into fight or flight mode if I feel cornered or scared. I was originally rescued with injuries to my head/face, so I've been dealt a tough hand. I don't intend to be mean, but the shelter environment is a little freaky, and I need time to understand I'm safe. Right now, I'm not interested in being touched or disturbed, but will be content to live amongst you so long as my basic needs are met. The staff have been working on ways to rehabilitate me, such as with tasty food on a long stick, and sitting and talking to me quietly from across the room. At one time, I lived in a foster home, and with time and patience my foster was able to pet me, especially if I had the safety of my feline buddies around. In the shelter, I haven't felt quite as brave and haven't let anybody near me, but I'm hoping a kind person will take a chance on me, and give me the time, patience, and understanding to show my soft side.

Dog-friendly: Untested
Cat-friendly: Yes
Kid-friendly: No
Do I Need Special Care?: I am a semi-feral cat that will need rehabilitation to feel safe and warm up to humans. I may never be a lap cat, but with patience, love, and understanding, previously feral cats can blossom into wonderful companions, and many even become snuggly cats!
