About Cordee

Hi there, I'm Cordee! I'm a sweet senior lady looking for a soft home to land in for my retirement years. The first thing you'll probably notice about me is my crooked ear. My life hasn't been an easy one, so it's just one of my scars from a hard life, but doesn't bother me a bit! I think it gives me charm. Now, I've gotten used to the cushy indoor life, and have discovered the joys of heat pads, snuggling under blankets, and fluffy cat beds. I'm never going back to the street cat life after realizing how good home life is! If I were a human, I think my hobbies would be knitting, baking, and napping. I'm the quintessential grandma cat! I'm not a spring chicken any more, but I'd like to think I've aged like fine wine, and still have so much love to give. My raspy meow, crooked ear, and love of giving face butts has already made me a popular lady here at the shelter, so I hope that someone will be won over by my senior charms and take me home where I can get back to doing all the things I love.

Dog-friendly: Untested, would likely prefer a home without, or with a calm cat-savvy dog
Cat-friendly: Yes, prefers calm gentle cat friends
Kid-friendly: Untested, likely yes with calm kids
Do I Need Special Care?: I have arthritis in my hips which has resulted in muscle loss in my back end. I am on a monthly injection, Solensia, to help with the pain and inflammation, and may need additional medications on an as-needed basis or if my arthritis progresses. Gentle physical activity to help keep my muscles strong is recommended. I am still active and mobile, but might need some home accommodates such as floor runners (my back feet sometimes slip out on smooth surfaces) and help up/down steep stairs. I also have Stage 2 Chronic Kidney Disease, and am on a special kidney diet to help me feel my best. I am not on kidney medications at this time, but may need to be in the future. Cats with CKD can live well-controlled for many years!
