About Chickpea
We are pleased to announce that Chickpea was adopted on Dec. 6, 2024
I'm Chickpea, and it's a fitting name as I'm shaped a bit like one! I may be plump, but I say it's just all the more kitty cat to love. But real talk, I'm looking for a bestie that wants to get fit and healthy together so I can be the best version of myself. Right now, I need a bit of help with grooming (it's not my fault I can't reach my back end, what do I look like, a contortionist?!) but with a weight loss plan in place, I'll be a new version of myself in no time. I'm a sweet-as-sugar lady who loves a bum scratch or chin scritch, and although at times a bit skittish, I love affection. I'm excited to find a home with equal parts couch snuggles and playtime, and promise to be an easygoing companion.
Dog-friendly: Untested, likely okay with slow introductions
Cat-friendly: Yes
Kid-friendly: Untested, likely yes
Do I Need Special Care?: One of my eyes has chronic discharge. This may be related to a prior resolved respiratory illness or a structural issue. My eye is comfortable (no signs of conjunctivitis, ulcers/scratches, infection, or change in vision) and I don't require any specific treatments at this time. My adopter may wish to wipe my eye twice daily to avoid tear staining or any crusty buildup.
Interested?! Please fill out our adoption application and submit to adopt@bowvalleyspca.org. Upon approval you will be contacted to arrange an appointment time! You are also welcome to come visit me at the Centre during public visiting hours Wednesday-Saturday 12:00-4:00pm without an appointment.
