About Benny
Hey I'm Benny, but my friends call me Ben Benz or Benny Boy! I have come from Saskatchewan where I was found stray many months ago. I am a total love bug! I thoroughly enjoy lap time where I can nuzzle up to you and get all the cuddles while I soothe you with my adorable purrs! If you want a companion I am your guy - I will supervise you all over the house during all of your activities! I love to be around my people. I am a simple guy and really just crave someone that will give me lots of love, attention, and affection.
I tested positive for FELV (Feline Leukemia Virus) which is a disease that impairs a cat's immune system and is linked to cancer. Our knowledgeable staff can tell you more about what it means to adopt an FELV positive cat, but it would be safest if I am the only other cat in the home or with another cat that has already tested positive (this disease does not affect people or dogs). I am healthy at this time, and a very sweet boy!
Here's what my current foster has to say about me: Benny: Or as I like to call him, Benzodiazapam because he's so chill. He would live his life in a cuddle puddle if he could. He's so sweet with me and gives me headbutts and face smooshes every opportunity he gets. He thrives in a quieter environment as he's still skittish with certain noises such as the blender and our garage opening... and my husband's loud sneezes. I do think that's mainly because he's so calm that the noises are disruptive! Benny loves cuddles. Benny would do great with a calm and gentle person for Benny to cuddle.
Here's what my previous foster has to say about me: Benny is very comfortable and relaxed; loves to sit on the armchair and stare out the window, and he loves the cuddles and is very affectionate. I've noticed he likes to play with dangling objects that move, like shoe laces. He does not care much for the toys that don't move on their own. He loves cuddling and will use any excuse to lie on your lap or nearby and just loves to spend the night curled up in bed. He is the perfect, purring lap cat. He also loves watching the world go by from the window in his favourite chair.
Dog-friendly: Untested, likely yes
Cat-friendly: Yes, but can only go to a home with another FeLV+ cat
Kid-friendly: Untested, likely yes
Do I Need Special Care?: Yes, I tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). I will need regular veterinary visits to make sure I am staying healthy.
