After graduation from the University of Guelph in 2001 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Carla started a career in hospitality management which led her to the Bow Valley in 2005.  Eventually, she realized that her true passion in life was dogs and studying their behaviour became her life's work. In addition to being an Animal Care Attendant for the BVSPCA, she is also part of the team at Bow River Veterinary Centre. She is also pursuing her certification as a dog trainer and behaviour specialist.  Carla's motto is:  "There is no such thing as a bad dog".  She sees the potential in every dog, no matter their history, and wants to help dog owners develop more rewarding relationships with their canine friends.  Carla is a strong supporter of alternatives to Breed Specific Legislation.

She is the proud mutt mom of 2 dogs, Dusty and Davis, and is the loyal servant to Angel, her cat.

Carla joined the staff in December of 2010.
