Thanks to the generosity of our community, we currently have an excess of puppy and kitten food that we want to go to good use before it expires!
It might seem a bit strange to think of "clean up" before your dog, but that is exactly what 3 dog walking volunteers at the Bow Valley SPCA did this week.

This experience will further develop a sense of personal and community responsibility in our students and most importantly, genuine joy to the kids and cats.
14 staff members from Spaghetti Factory in Banff presented Bow Valley SPCA with a donation of a cheque for $1000.00. The staff raised money and chose BVSPCA as the deserving charity. The staff met Benito our longest resident dog. He presented his best manners and met each staff member.

Benny visited his neighbours, the staff at S & S Auto in Canmore Feb 1, 2016. S & S has generously donating their bottles for recycling to BVSPCA. Benny enjoyed meeting the people behind the generosity and support BVSPCA receives on an ongoing basis.

Tuesday Dec 15, 2015 the Bow Valley SPCA was invited to the Soul Warmers Club at Elizabeth Rummel School. The students in this Club chose the BVSPCA as the charity of choice for a project where they made and sold items to raise funds for SPCA.

Canmore Scouts visited the dog and cat residents at the Bow Valley SPCA, Wednesday Nov 26. Meeting the dogs, the Scouts learned the importance of Basic Manners which all BVSPCA dogs are taught by our trained volunteers.
Canmore Collegiate High School Leadership had a tour on Thursday Nov 19, 2015 to learn about the No Cage/No Kill Facility and meet the Bow Valley SPCA's resident cats and dogs. During the tour the students learned some of the resident animals stories.
On Saturday Oct 3, 2015 Emma celebrated her 11th Birthday Party with the animals @ BVSPCA. Emma, Emily, Katy and Kendall loved playing with the cats, meeting our new black kitten, Michonne, and Diane who just arrived. They learned Level 1 dog training; positive association with reward training
Canmore Fire-Rescue attended schools in The Bow Valley teaching Fire Prevention to Pre-School to Grade 2, from Oct 5 to 8.
Messages the students learned were:
-Each home should have working Smoke Detectors especially outside bedrooms.

Volunteers from the Bow Valley SPCA will be going with Canmore Fire-Rescue to local schools from Pre-School to Grade 2 during the week of October 5. They will be handing out Fire Fighter Pet Alerts to kids with pets.
The Rocky Mountain Mut Strut was an enormous success. Participants, and volunteers, and especially the dogs had a great time. The Cani-X run was a terrific success.

Hello Sonya and Bow Valley SPCA Staff!
Kevin McDonald, from the Canmore Highland Games, brought almost $400 to the Bow Valley SPCA. They passed a hat around at the Canmore Highland Games and decided the money should come to the Bow Valley SPCA!
Benito enjoyed a long-week end walk with his project leader (Roberta). While they were out and about they saw this bear. Benito stayed calm and Roberta hurried off to get her camera. What a brave dog!
Kasia a newly certified Yoga instructor and member of Bow Valley SPCA Education Committee offered a Cat Yoga session at Bow Valley SPCA on Monday Aug 31st. The cats enjoyed leaving their Chalets to engage in a PURRFECT Cat Yoga session. The people really enjoyed doing Yoga with sompanions!
Benito has been the perfect house guest visiting with his Project Lead and her family. On route, once seat belted, he just sits back and enjoys the ride. Arriving at our home he shows good manners, and enjoys the attention from family members and visitors.
