Milkshake

Hi there, I'm Milkshake! I came to the BVSPCA with my mom and my siblings, but I'm ready for the next step in my journey to involve a forever home. I am a timid boy, and I am still learning that people and the world are safe. I don't have a mean bone in my body, but I spend a lot of my time right now hiding in boxes or tucked away under blankets where nobody can see me. But, I'm trying really hard to be brave, and with the people at the shelter that I see more often, I am becoming less timid and even accepting of head scratches. I think a quiet home sounds nice for now, so that I can adapt to a new environment at my own speed. I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which you can read more about in the "care notes" below. I promise that beneath my timid shell is a sweet kitty who can't wait to make some friends and find my happily-ever-after!

Dog-friendly: Untested, likely yes with slow introductions
Cat-friendly: Yes (additional considerations due to being FIV positive)
Kid-friendly: Yes, patient older kids recommended due to shy nature
Do I Need Special Care?: I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a condition that may lead to a weakened immune system. I will need regular veterinary visits to make sure I am staying healthy. The staff can tell you more about what it means to adopt a cat that is FIV positive, but you should know that FIV positive cats can lead long and healthy lives!
